Well, you really don’t, but ask yourself, how do bill collectors get you to open emails? Sometimes the name will automatically cause the receiver to open the email due to familiarity with the creditor. Other times they will bring forth an action that needs to be taken care of immediately, and place it either in the subject of the email or at the very beginning of the body.

Think about when emails come to your phone you don’t care to see. You swipe right and keep it moving without reading the content. Don’t you want your brand’s emails to mean something?
